Fence Installation Cost in Romeoville, IL

There is no single Romeoville fence price on this page. Each row is a figure copied from the publisher named beside it, with that publisher’s date. A free on-site estimate gives your real number. Prices vary. A free estimate gives the real number.

What changes the price

Length, height, gates, grade, and what comes out of the ground move a fence price. A 4-foot picket with one gate is not a 6-foot privacy run with two gates. Corner lots add drawing time because the yards are not all the same column. Tear-out is its own line when an old fence is in the way.

The two publishers below do not describe the same job. Fixr, updated January 31, 2025, ties several totals to 200 linear feet and prints installed per-foot ranges. Angi, updated August 3, 2026, prints a project average, a most-homeowners band, a wider band, a per-foot band, and material per-foot ranges. An installed range and a material range are not added together on this page, and they are not averaged into a new number.

Read vinyl, wood, aluminum, chain link, pool fences, and repair for the scope those prices are trying to describe. The permit guide is the code. It is not a price.

Published figures

Read across a row. If Fixr and Angi disagree, both numbers stay. Fixr’s date on the page used here is January 31, 2025. Angi’s date is August 3, 2026. The table is the source list. The notes under it say which rows are installed prices and which are material prices.

How to read Fixr’s installed figures

Fixr says the national average is $4,500 and the range is $3,000 to $7,000. It says most people pay around $4,500 for 200 linear feet of 4-foot cedar picket with a gate. Its low example is $2,000 for 200 linear feet of 3-foot galvanized chain link. Its high example is $9,000 for 200 linear feet of 6-foot black wrought iron with a gate. Those are four different sentences. They are four rows.

The same page prints an average installed range of $12 to $35 per linear foot, then installed ranges by material: chain link $12.25 to $40, wood $15 to $35, composite $22 to $40, aluminum $15 to $40, vinyl $15 to $40, and wrought iron $22 to $40. It says most repairs are $200 to $850. Line-gate materials are $40 to $200, and installed line gates are $50 to $400. A driveway gate is $1,000 to $6,000 installed. All of those are Fixr’s, updated January 31, 2025.

How to read Angi’s figures

Angi says the average is $3,276, that most homeowners pay $1,860 to $4,843, and that a wider range is $425 to $13,700. It says fences run $6 to $50 per linear foot, with an average of $23. Those are project-level figures from the page updated August 3, 2026.

Angi’s material per-linear-foot lines are a different column: aluminum $17 to $90, chain link $8 to $40, composite $11 to $45, vinyl $15 to $40, wood $10 to $45, and wrought iron $25 to $55. Do not lay those on top of Fixr’s installed ranges and call the result a Romeoville price. Angi also prints a Chicago row of $2,000 to $4,900. That row is Angi’s. It is not a Will County bid.

Angi says the average repair is $611 and states the average replacement as $3,276, the same figure as its installation average. Removing an existing fence is $3 to $5 per linear foot. Its additional-factors line for gates is $150 to $2,000. Keep that gate line separate from Fixr’s line-gate and driveway-gate rows.

The village permit fee is not a row

The village charges a permit fee set by its fee schedule. Confirm the current amount with Romeoville Community Development before you apply. The link is the Romeoville building-permits page, also cited on the permit guide. No permit fee figure is printed on this page. A national permit range is not copied here either.

Census Reporter lists a median value of owner-occupied housing units in Romeoville of $257,100, plus or minus $7,983, from the ACS 2024 5-year estimates. That is a budget context for the house. It is not a fence price, and this site does not offer financing.

FAQ

How much does a fence cost in Romeoville?

This page does not print a Romeoville average. Fixr, updated January 31, 2025, prints a national average of $4,500, a range of $3,000 to $7,000, and an installed range of $12 to $35 per linear foot. Angi, updated August 3, 2026, prints an average of $3,276 and a most-homeowners range of $1,860 to $4,843. Those figures stay attached to their sources. Prices vary. A free estimate gives the real number.

Why do Angi and Fixr disagree?

They price different examples and, in the material tables, different things. Fixr’s per-foot material lines used here are installed ranges. Angi’s per-foot material lines are material ranges. The dates are January 31, 2025 and August 3, 2026. This page does not average the two sites into a new number.

Does the village permit fee change the bid?

The village charges a permit fee set by its fee schedule. Confirm the current amount with Romeoville Community Development before you apply. That amount is not printed here, so it is not added into any row. Ask the estimate whether the fee is included or listed beside the work.

Is removal of the old fence included?

Only if the estimate says so. Angi, updated August 3, 2026, prints removal at $3 to $5 per linear foot. That is Angi’s figure, not a line you can assume is inside Fixr’s $4,500 example. Ask the written estimate.

What does a free estimate include?

A free on-site estimate gives your real number. The request asks for the village, the fence type, and the approximate length. It does not hire anyone and it does not file the permit. Prices vary. A free estimate gives the real number.
